The most compact TS008-compliant letter plate ever made – the TS008 Soterian Slim from UAP – is now available to order from Norseal.

Previous TS008-complaint letter plates have proved problematic due to their bulky design on the inside face of the door which sometimes makes it difficult to open the door to its full extent, restricting clear openings and compromising the door’s compliance with the Equality Act. The Soterian Slim overcomes this with a slimline design that combines practicality and aesthetics without compromising security and safety. Measuring just 298mm x 98mm with a flap projection of just 14mm – 21mm less than standard models – the new letterplate features an innovative pivoting serrated stay system that limits the flap opening to just 39° providing performance beyond the requirements of TS008. The stays are securely attached to the sides of the unit and fold flat for transit and storage, before being unfolded to limit flap projection at installation. The serrated edge has been specifically designed to frustrate manipulation of the door’s thumb turn with the use of a strap or cord.

The Firesafe option of this game-changing letter plate, features intumescent seals in the body of the product to maintain its slimline design. It has been tested to and passed FD30 fire testing and, with Certifire accreditation, it is suitable for installation in timber fire doors without any further testing requirement. The new Soterian Slim can be installed in 44mm – 70mm composite, timber, and uPVC doors.

Secured by Design approved and BSI Kitemarked, TS008 Soterian Slim allows Document Q and PAS 24:2016 compliance and has been tested to 20,000 cycles to verify robust and smooth performance for an extended service life.

The Soterian Slim letter plate has no fixings visible on the outside of the door preventing tampering and giving a sleek aesthetic outside as well as in. The units are available in a choice of aluminium for interior front doors and stainless steel for weathered exterior locations, with a choice of white, black, chrome, satin chrome, or satin silver finishes, to match other door hardware and interior finishes.
